About Jayson Baldner
I’m Jayson Baldner, owner and general contractor of Baldner Services LLC in Seattle. My journey began on a small farm in Ohio, where I learned the value of hard work and craftsmanship from my family. After a first career in the culinary world and years working in senior living and remodeling, I founded Baldner Services to bring care, precision, and proactive planning to home improvement.
As a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS), I believe safe and well-designed homes are for everyone not just seniors. Today, my focus is on kitchen and bathroom remodeling, home safety upgrades, and our proactive Home Maintenance Plan, helping homeowners protect their investment and enjoy peace of mind year-round.

From Farm Roots to Home Remodeling
I’m Jayson Baldner, owner and general contractor of Baldner Services LLC. My path to this work started far from Seattle on a small farm in rural Ohio. My parents bought a few acres of our family’s land, and I grew up surrounded by gardens, animals, and family.
I was fortunate to spend a lot of time with my grandparents. They taught me patience, craftsmanship, and the value of doing things right whether it was tending the garden, fixing something that broke, or helping in the kitchen with hand-rolled egg noodles and maple rolls.
Farm life also meant hard work: shoveling snow to the barn, feeding animals, and raising sheep for 4-H. In school, I took every shop class I could I still remember building a grandmother’s clock and that hands-on experience stayed with me.
A Journey Through Food and Hospitality
My first career was in food. I studied culinary arts at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island and became a sous-chef at one of Cleveland’s top restaurants. I loved the creativity, teamwork, and precision the kitchen demanded.
Eventually, life took me west. I accepted a job at a YWCA camp on the Oregon Coast, where I worked as head cook during the summer and camp caretaker through the rest of the year cooking for more than 150 campers and staff each day while maintaining the campgrounds and facilities. It was an incredible experience that blended hospitality, teamwork, and problem-solving and it’s also where I met my wife.
After my time at the camp, I spent a summer in Alaska, working around the fishing industry and experiencing a completely different way of life. Those early years gave me a deep appreciation for hard work, self-reliance, and the satisfaction of seeing something tangible come together through effort and care.
Later, I managed a from-scratch pizza and pasta restaurant in Olympia, where everything from sauces and salad dressings to cheesecake was made in-house.
Building With Purpose
When we moved to Seattle, my career began to shift. I joined a senior living community, and what started as a job turned into a calling. I spent 13 years there, eventually becoming a project manager after earning my Certificate in Project Management from the University of Washington.
Working in senior living taught me more than construction it taught me about people. I loved hearing residents’ stories and saw firsthand how thoughtful design could make homes safer and more comfortable as people aged.
Later, I worked with a restaurant group, where I saw how critical planned and preventative maintenance was to keeping things running smoothly. I returned to senior living as a maintenance coordinator, managing both older buildings and newer construction, before moving into remodeling full-time.
I spent several years working with contractors first at a retirement community, then with a residential remodeling company where I deepened my hands-on experience in renovation, project coordination, and client communication. Each role added to my understanding of what makes a project successful: planning, craftsmanship, and care.
Founding Baldner Services
In 2025, I decided to bring everything together craftsmanship, care, and proactive planning and founded Baldner Services LLC.
As a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS), I believe that safe, accessible, and well-maintained homes aren’t just for seniors they’re for people of all ages and life stages.
Today, Baldner Services focuses on kitchen and bathroom remodeling, home safety upgrades, storage solutions, and preventive maintenance plans. Our Home Maintenance Plan helps homeowners stay ahead of repairs with regular checkups, seasonal care, and small fixes before they become big problems.
My goal is simple: to help people feel safe, comfortable, and truly at home today, tomorrow, and for years to come.
